We believe that when boys
are raised whole, everything gets better.

For them. For women and girls. For the next generation.
Here's what the data shows — and here's what we're building to change it.

What we do

The most comprehensive
intelligence platform on
boys and men.

Raising Men Project synthesizes research from the CDC, Census Bureau, Fragile Families, Opportunity Insights, and 40+ other institutions into a single, coherent picture of what's happening to boys and men — and why.

We cover all demographics, all ages, all geographies. The deepest data on Black boys and men. Comparative analysis across every demographic group. Real-time intelligence on education, mental health, justice, family, and economic outcomes.

Not a program. Not a charity. A research institution built like a media brand — serious about the evidence, serious about making it readable.

The cascade

This isn't four crises.
It's one upstream failure
with four visible expressions.

Boys suspended before age 10 are 3× more likely to enter the juvenile justice system by age 16. Boys in father-absent homes are 4× more likely to live in poverty and 70% more likely to drop out. Poverty reduces life expectancy. The cascade is documented, mapped, and measurable. So is the intervention.

Every connection below is Tier A or Tier B evidence — established causal or strongly correlated across multiple longitudinal studies.

Boys are falling behind.
Across every measurable domain — education, mental health, economic mobility, and social connection — boys and men are declining relative to their female counterparts and relative to prior generations. This is not a Black crisis or a white crisis. It is a male development crisis.
Boys more likely to be diagnosed with a behavioral disorder
CDC · Tier A

Male-to-female ratio in special education enrollment
NCES 2023 · Tier A

Male suicide rate vs. female across all ages and all demographics
CDC WONDER 2023 · Tier A
Demographic breakdown — the crisis is universal, the depth varies
Black / African American
+144%
Youth suicide rate increase (2007–2020)
The steepest increase of any demographic group in the U.S. This is not a mental health story alone. It is an identity, connection, and purpose crisis — measurable across six developmental domains — with an intervention that the research supports.
CDC 2023 · Tier A evidence
Hispanic / Latino
42%
High school dropout rate — highest of any demographic
Language barriers, economic pressure, and a school system not designed for their developmental profile. The education gap for Hispanic males is the largest and most underdiscussed.
NCES 2023 · Tier A
Progress
+38%
Black-owned business growth (2017–2021)
The fastest growing business ownership of any demographic. The progress story is real and systematically underreported. Both truths belong on the same platform.
